Artist Statement

I explore image and emotion through nonrepresentational forms and expressions. My current focus explores the interplay of color, line, and texture in multilayered assemblies and acrylic paintings. Abstract constructions free me to depict the world without bias. My images invite the engaged viewer to remix their own experiences and emotions to create new interpretations.

Transparency

This is an assembly. I make them using fused plastic, glass, and painted canvas. I assemble these parts to create an object. Sometimes these objects are added to backgrounds, and as in this case, they are left to their own devices.

These two views, of the same painting, show how a line can change the significance of objects in space., and in the space around it. The finished painting is on the right.
